AKOKO DEV GROUP’S OUTBURST MISGUIDED, POLITICALLY MOTIVATED — GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA REMAINS COMMITTED TO RULE OF LAW AND DEVELOPMENT — DG OPOMULERO FIRES BACK

The attention of the Opomulero Group has been drawn to the reckless, misleading, and politically charged statement credited to the so-called Akoko Development Group (ADG), attacking the person and administration of His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Ordinarily, such an uninformed and desperate outburst would not deserve a response, but for the sake of setting the record straight and preventing the public from being misled, we must respond with the facts.

Let it be clearly stated: Governor Aiyedatiwa is not, and will never be, a lawless leader. Any insinuation that he is acting in defiance of the judiciary is not only false but a deliberate attempt to heat up the polity and create unnecessary tension in Ondo State.

The issues surrounding the LCDAs are purely legal and constitutional matters already within the judicial process, including appeals. It is therefore laughable that a group claiming to understand governance would deliberately ignore this fact and rush to the media with baseless accusations.

We challenge the ADG to explain to the people of Akoko:

Where were they when previous administrations neglected the region?

Why this sudden activism only after a performing governor began repositioning Ondo State?

Who is sponsoring this politically motivated agitation?

Their claims of “impunity” are nothing but a weak attempt to blackmail the government and gain cheap relevance.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated, time and again, a firm commitment to:

Strengthening democratic institutions

Improving infrastructure across all regions, including Akokoland

Tackling insecurity with strategic collaboration with security agencies

To accuse such a leader of disregard for the rule of law is not only dishonest — it is an insult to the intelligence of the people of Ondo State.

On the issue of insecurity and infrastructure, the ADG has chosen to play politics with sensitive matters rather than collaborate with government efforts. This is irresponsible and unbecoming of any group that claims to represent the interests of the people.

Let it be known:
Governance is not driven by propaganda, intimidation, or media theatrics. It is guided by law, due process, and responsibility.

The attempt by the ADG to issue threats and return to court is well within their rights, but they must understand that: No amount of noise, pressure, or political manipulation will derail the focused leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

We advise the ADG to:

Stop misleading the public

Respect ongoing judicial processes

Engage constructively rather than resorting to sensationalism

Ondo State is bigger than any pressure group.

The Opomulero Group stands firmly with Governor Aiyedatiwa and will not allow desperate political actors to distort facts or undermine the progress being made under his administration.

SIGNED:
Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Group
