The attention of the Opomulero Movement has been drawn to the misleading and alarmist statement credited to Aregbesola Abiodun, attempting to paint a false picture of insecurity in Ondo State for cheap political gains.
Let it be made clear — Ondo State is not abandoned, and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is not asleep. Unlike desperate critics who thrive on panic and propaganda, this administration has continued to take deliberate, strategic, and coordinated steps to tackle security challenges across the state.
Yes, security concerns exist — as they do across Nigeria — but to suggest that nothing is being done is not only dishonest, it is wicked and politically motivated.
We challenge Aregbesola Abiodun to answer:
Was Ondo ever completely free of insecurity before now?
Are security issues not a national challenge cutting across states irrespective of party lines?
The reality is this:
Governor Aiyedatiwa has strengthened collaboration with security agencies, supported local vigilante structures, and intensified intelligence gathering to prevent attacks and protect lives.
Protests by citizens are not a sign of failure — they are part of democratic expression. What matters is government response, and this administration has shown commitment, not indifference.
It is unfortunate that individuals like Aregbesola Abiodun would rather fuel fear and tension instead of supporting ongoing efforts to restore peace. Ondo people deserve unity, not reckless statements designed to score political points.
