The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has commended the swift and compassionate response of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa following the recent tragic attacks in Imafon, Igushin, and Ilado communities in Akure North Local Government Area.
Hon. Olakunori described the Governor’s visit to the affected communities as a clear demonstration of responsible leadership, empathy, and a firm commitment to the safety of Ondo citizens. According to him, leadership is best proven in difficult times, and Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown that he stands firmly with the people in moments of grief and uncertainty.
The DG particularly applauded the Governor’s decisive directives to strengthen security architecture, including the establishment of Amotekun posts, collaboration with the military, and the strategic engagement of local hunters and vigilantes. He noted that these steps reflect a practical understanding of the terrain and the urgency required to tackle evolving security threats.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again shown that governance is about presence, action, and responsibility. His visit to the bereaved families and traditional institutions is not just symbolic—it is reassuring to the people that their government is not detached from their pain,” Olakunori stated.
While acknowledging that insecurity remains a national challenge, the DG emphasized that Ondo State is taking bold and structured steps under the current administration to confront criminal elements and restore peace across vulnerable communities.
He further urged residents to support government efforts by providing credible intelligence and avoiding any form of collaboration with criminal elements, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
Hon. Olakunori also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and assured that the Opomulero Group stands in solidarity with the affected communities during this difficult time.
He concluded by expressing confidence that with sustained efforts and cooperation between government and the people, Ondo State will overcome the current security challenges and emerge stronger.
