The Director General of the Opomulero Movement, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has stated that the growing support and open defence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa across Ondo State is a reflection of the people’s appreciation for purposeful leadership, stability, and continuity in governance.

Reacting to rising political activities and premature governorship permutations allegedly linked to Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the DG noted that the people of Ondo State freely gave their mandate and trust to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and will naturally resist any distraction capable of creating tension within the state and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Hon. Olasupo, Governor Aiyedatiwa has remained focused on governance, peace-building, infrastructure development, and strengthening party unity across the state, while some desperate politicians have continued to heat up the polity with unnecessary political ambition ahead of time.

“The people of Ondo State are defending Governor Aiyedatiwa because they can see humility, performance, accessibility, and sincerity in his leadership. The mandate freely given to him by the people must be respected, protected, and allowed to flourish without unnecessary distractions from premature governorship ambition,” he stated.

The DG Opomulero emphasized that Ondo people are politically conscious and will always stand against any attempt to destabilize the government or create division within the ruling party for personal interest.

He further advised political actors to place the interest of the APC and the development of Ondo State above personal ambition, noting that this is the time to support Governor Aiyedatiwa in delivering democratic dividends to the people rather than engaging in early succession politics.

Hon. Olasupo reaffirmed the commitment of the Opomulero Movement to continue mobilizing grassroots support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and promoting unity within the APC across Ondo State.
