The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has commended Engr. Daniel Babafemi Oke for his professional observations regarding the ongoing construction of the Akure Overhead Bridge, describing his recommendations on alternative routes and temporary street lighting as useful contributions towards the successful execution of the landmark project.

Hon. Olakunori stated that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa deserves commendation for demonstrating courage, vision, and commitment to infrastructural development through the commencement of the long-awaited flyover project in Akure.

According to the DG, every major infrastructure project across the world comes with temporary inconveniences, but responsible governments focus on the long-term benefits that such projects will bring to the people.

“The Akure Flyover is not just a bridge; it is an investment in the future of Ondo State. It is designed to improve traffic flow, enhance economic activities, reduce travel time, and position Akure as a modern state capital capable of supporting future growth.”

Hon. Olakunori noted that the concerns raised by Engr. Oke on traffic management and street lighting are valid professional suggestions that should be considered by relevant authorities to ensure minimal disruption to residents and businesses during the construction period.

He further urged residents of Akure and Ondo State at large to support the project and avoid being misled by individuals who have chosen to politicize every developmental initiative of the Aiyedatiwa administration.

“Those opposing this project have failed to offer any credible alternative to solving the persistent traffic challenges within the state capital. Development requires vision, sacrifice, and patience. The temporary inconveniences associated with construction cannot be compared with the permanent benefits that the people will enjoy upon completion.”

The DG also expressed confidence in the capacity of the contractor and the supervision mechanisms put in place by the state government, stating that the project would be delivered according to specification and within a reasonable timeframe.

Hon. Olakunori therefore called on transport unions, traders, residents, and motorists to cooperate with government officials and construction workers throughout the construction period, assuring them that the completed flyover will stand as one of the signature infrastructural achievements of the Aiyedatiwa administration.
