AIYEDATIWA’S FOREST GUARD INITIATIVE: A BOLD STEP TOWARDS SECURITY AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT — DG OPOMULERO

The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori (DG Opomulero), has commended the Governor of Ondo State, , for unveiling plans to employ 1,000 youths under the proposed Forest Guard Initiative, describing the programme as a strategic intervention that will simultaneously tackle insecurity, unemployment and environmental protection across the state.

Speaking during the Opomulero Leadership Meeting held today, Hon. Olakunori said the initiative demonstrates Governor Aiyedatiwa’s practical commitment to safeguarding lives and property while creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

According to him, the recruitment of youths into the forest guard system will strengthen intelligence gathering, enhance surveillance of forest reserves and help combat criminal activities, including kidnapping and illegal occupation of forests.

He noted that at a time when many young people are seeking productive engagement, the Governor has once again shown leadership by providing a platform through which youths can contribute meaningfully to the security and development of the state.

The DG also applauded the Governor’s continuous support for youth-related programmes, including the sponsorship of Ondo State delegates to the Nigeria Youth Parliament, which he said reflects an administration that believes in giving young people a voice in governance and nation-building.

“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has consistently demonstrated that governance is about impacting lives. From youth empowerment to infrastructure development, security enhancement and economic expansion, his administration continues to place the welfare of the people at the centre of governance,” Olakunori stated.

He urged youths across the state to prepare themselves for the opportunities that will come with the Forest Guard Initiative and remain law-abiding, patriotic and committed to the progress of Ondo State.

Hon. Olakunori reaffirmed the support of the Opomulero Group for policies and programmes that promote security, create jobs and improve the living conditions of the people, expressing confidence that the initiative will yield positive results for the state.
