NO AMOUNT OF LEGAL RHETORIC OR SPONSORED ATTACKS CAN DIMINISH AIYEDATIWA’S MANDATE; HIS ACHIEVEMENTS SPEAK LOUDER THAN POLITICAL PROPAGANDA, DG OPOMULERO REPLY OLOROOGUN SOLA AJISAFE

The attention of the Opomulero Group has been drawn to the article authored by Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe titled “Clean Hands, Dirty Process: Aiyedatiwa and the APC Crisis in Ondo.” While every citizen is entitled to express an opinion, it is unfortunate that a lawyer who should be guided by facts has chosen to advance political propaganda disguised as legal analysis.

Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe’s article is long on accusations but remarkably short on verifiable evidence. It is a politically motivated opinion designed to undermine Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa rather than an objective assessment of the realities within the Ondo State APC.

To suggest that Governor Aiyedatiwa lacks political legitimacy because he assumed office through constitutional succession is to attack the very Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Governor Aiyedatiwa became Governor through a constitutional process and subsequently secured the mandate of APC members and the people of Ondo State through a democratic election. His legitimacy is therefore constitutional, legal, and electoral.

It is also misleading to portray every internal disagreement within the APC as evidence of leadership failure. Every major political party experiences internal contests, especially during the selection of candidates. Such disagreements are neither new nor peculiar to Ondo State. What distinguishes true leadership is the ability to keep government running while addressing party concerns, and Governor Aiyedatiwa has continued to demonstrate that maturity.

The claim that Governor Aiyedatiwa imposed candidates, sidelined stakeholders, or destroyed party structures remains an opinion that ignores the collective nature of APC decision-making. Party activities are guided by the Constitution of the APC and supervised by the appropriate organs of the party. Reducing every decision to one individual is both unfair and politically convenient.

It is even more surprising that the article attempts to shift responsibility for every disagreement onto the Governor while portraying others as innocent observers. True reconciliation requires every stakeholder to place the interest of the APC above personal ambition. Selectively blaming one individual only deepens division instead of promoting unity.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has remained focused on governance despite sustained political distractions. Within one year, his administration has recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, rural development, security, youth empowerment, and economic growth. These are the issues that matter most to the people of Ondo State, not endless political speculation.

The Opomulero Group is also concerned by what appears to be a sustained campaign by some Abuja-based political actors and their supporters to fuel unnecessary divisions within the Ondo State APC. Rather than supporting the Governor to consolidate the party and advance the interests of Ondo State, some individuals have continued to sponsor narratives, media attacks, and political propaganda capable of undermining the unity of the party.

It is regrettable that supporters of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, have repeatedly engaged in public exchanges and media campaigns that do not promote the collective interest of the APC in Ondo State. At a time when all stakeholders should be closing ranks to strengthen the party and ensure the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, such divisive rhetoric only benefits the opposition.

Those who truly love the APC should channel their energy towards strengthening the party rather than sponsoring narratives that portray Ondo State as divided. Political ambition must never take precedence over party unity or the collective interest of the people.

The Opomulero Group firmly believes that the APC is bigger than any individual ambition. As the leader of the party in Ondo State, Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the unity and success of the APC. We are confident that he will continue to work with all stakeholders to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We therefore advise Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe and other political commentators to contribute constructively to the growth of the APC rather than publishing narratives capable of creating unnecessary tension within the party. Criticism is welcome in a democracy, but it must be anchored on fairness, facts, and a sincere desire to build rather than divide.

The Opomulero Group remains unwavering in its support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and is confident that under his leadership, the APC will remain united and deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State in the 2027 general elections.

No amount of propaganda, media blackmail, sponsored publications, or political intimidation can distract Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa from his constitutional responsibility of delivering good governance to the people of Ondo State. The Governor remains focused, committed, and determined to consolidate the achievements of his administration while ensuring that Ondo State remains a stronghold of the APC and a major contributor to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Signed:

Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael
Director General, Opomulero Group
