The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael (DG Opomulero), has commended the Ondo State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Pastor Peter Olagookun, for demonstrating uncommon courage, patriotism and political maturity by acknowledging the impressive performance of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

DG Opomulero described Pastor Olagookun’s position as a shining example of responsible opposition politics, noting that governance should never be sacrificed on the altar of political bitterness. According to him, when a leader is performing creditably, every sincere stakeholder, irrespective of political affiliation, owes the people a duty to speak the truth.

“It takes courage and integrity for an opposition party chairman to openly admit that a governor is performing well. Pastor Peter Olagookun has shown that the progress of Ondo State is more important than partisan politics. His position reflects the feelings of many objective observers who have witnessed the developmental strides of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa across the state.”

DG Opomulero noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has continued to deliver visible dividends of democracy through road construction, strategic infrastructure projects, healthcare interventions, educational support, workers’ welfare, prompt payment of retirees’ benefits and the creation of employment opportunities across several sectors of the state economy.

He added that within just one year of the administration, more than 3,000 employment opportunities have been created across various sectors, while numerous developmental projects are ongoing in different parts of Ondo State, demonstrating the Governor’s commitment to inclusive and people-centred governance.

The DG further stated that Pastor Olagookun’s remarks have exposed the false narratives being promoted by a few desperate political actors who are already overheating the polity with premature campaigns instead of allowing the Governor to concentrate on delivering good governance.

“It is instructive that most of the attacks against Governor Aiyedatiwa are coming from individuals within the ruling party who are driven by personal ambition rather than the interest of the people. The NNPP Chairman has rightly advised that governance should come before politics, and I wholeheartedly align with that position.”

DG Opomulero urged politicians across party lines to emulate Pastor Olagookun by placing truth, fairness and the overall development of Ondo State above narrow political interests, stressing that constructive engagement, rather than needless propaganda, is what will move the state forward.

He reaffirmed that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains focused on the implementation of the EASE Agenda and will not be distracted by campaigns of misinformation or politically motivated attacks.
