The Director-General of Opomulero Group/Movement, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael, has dismissed (ACO) political analysis, arguing that the 2027 succession debate should not be used to undermine Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

ACO, your Facebook political analysis is built on assumptions that require serious reconsideration. You are entitled to your political opinions, but political commentary must be grounded in facts, not speculative conclusions presented as established reality.

Let me make our position clear: Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration has a constitutional and political mandate to govern, and the question of succession must be discussed within the realities of Ondo State’s political rotation and democratic process.

The 2027 election and the future leadership of Ondo State should not be reduced to personal ambitions or premature succession campaigns.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s supporters maintain that he should seek a second term, subject to the applicable constitutional requirements and electoral process. The question of who succeeds him thereafter is a matter for future political contestation, party processes and the electorate.

Our position within Opomulero is that Akure Central deserves serious consideration in the future succession conversation. That position should not be misrepresented as an attack on any individual, including Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

THE APPOINTMENTS: GOVERNANCE IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY POLITICAL MANIPULATION

ACO’s attempt to portray the Governor’s appointments as a deliberate strategy to control the party and fight political enemies requires evidence.

Political appointments can legitimately be examined in terms of their number, cost, responsibilities and effectiveness. However, those questions are different from claiming that the Governor acted with hidden motives without substantiation.

If the appointments are intended to strengthen grassroots administration and government engagement, their effectiveness should be assessed through their actual performance.

Criticism is welcome, but speculation should not be presented as fact.

AIYEDATIWA’S SECOND-TERM QUESTION AND THE FUTURE OF ONDO STATE

ACO and others engaging in succession discussions should distinguish between the Governor’s current administration, the 2027 electoral contest and longer-term political aspirations.

The Opomulero position is that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s supporters should be free to advocate for a second term, while other political actors retain their right to present alternative positions through lawful democratic processes.

The eventual leadership of Ondo State must be determined through the constitutional and electoral framework, rather than assumed in advance.

A MESSAGE TO ACO

ACO, you may continue your political analysis, but ensure that your conclusions are supported by evidence. Disagreement is part of democracy, and no political actor should be above scrutiny.

At the same time, political criticism should focus on verifiable actions, policies and outcomes instead of assigning motives that have not been established.

Ondo State needs substantive political debate—not speculation disguised as certainty.
