Mr. Wande Fajemilugba has called on political leaders and stakeholders in Akure South to support Akure North in the quest for the position of Federal House of Representatives.
Speaking on the long-standing imbalance in representation.
Mr. Fajemilugba emphasized that since the inception of the Akure South/North Federal Constituency, Akure North has never been given the opportunity to produce a representative at the National Assembly.
He described this as an injustice that must be corrected in the spirit of fairness, equity, and inclusive governance.
He further appealed to leaders and stakeholders in Akure North to unite, put aside internal differences, and collectively agree on a credible candidate of their choice from the wards. According to him, once Akure North presents a united front, Akure South leaders are ready and willing to support such a candidate.
Mr. Fajemilugba also strongly advocated for gender inclusion, encouraging Akure North to consider presenting a woman candidate if possible, noting that women have consistently demonstrated capacity, commitment, and grassroots connection in leadership.
He concluded by stressing that unity, fairness, and mutual understanding between Akure South and Akure North remain the key to achieving sustainable political progress for the constituency.
