The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori (DG Opomulero), has cautioned political critics and naysayers who continue to underrate the capacity, experience, and political depth of His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, noting that they will soon be shocked by unfolding political realities in Ondo State.
According to DG Opomulero, it is either political ignorance or deliberate mischief for anyone to underestimate Governor Aiyedatiwa, a man who has paid his dues and understands the political structure of Ondo State from the grassroots to the highest level of governance.
Many people conveniently forget that Governor Aiyedatiwa did not emerge overnight. He served diligently as Deputy Governor before assuming office as Governor.
He understands governance, power dynamics, and party structure better than most of his critics,” DG Opomulero stated.
He further emphasized that Governor Aiyedatiwa served loyally and strategically under the late Rotimi Akeredolu, a political titan who firmly controlled the party structure during his tenure.
Let it be clearly stated: nobody struggled with party structure under Governor Akeredolu while he was alive.
Governor Aiyedatiwa was part of that system, learned from it, and helped sustain it. Now that he is the Governor of Ondo State, it is only logical and constitutional that he is fully in charge, DG Opomulero added.
He described current attempts by some individuals to downplay the authority of Governor Aiyedatiwa as futile, misplaced, and politically naïve.
“Power respects preparation and legitimacy. Governor Aiyedatiwa has both. Those still living in denial should wake up to reality. Ondo State has a Governor, and he is firmly in control, he said.
DG Opomulero urged party members, political stakeholders, and the general public to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa in the interest of stability, continuity, and sustainable development in Ondo State.
History is about to repeat itself, and those who mocked yesterday will soon applaud. The shock is coming—not through noise, but through results, he concluded.
