Only the Supreme Court Can Decide Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Fate — DG Opomulero

The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has stated that only the Supreme Court of Nigeria has the final constitutional authority to determine any matter relating to the political fate or eligibility of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State.

Hon. Olakunori emphasized that the recent court proceedings being circulated by opposition elements are merely part of ongoing legal processes and do not constitute a final judgment that can disqualify the governor from seeking re-election.

According to him, in Nigeria’s judicial system, decisions from lower courts can still be appealed, and the final interpretation of such constitutional matters rests with the Supreme Court. Therefore, it is misleading and politically motivated for anyone to suggest that the governor’s political future has already been decided.

The DG Opomulero urged political actors, especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party, to refrain from spreading misinformation capable of misleading the public and creating unnecessary political tension in the state.

He further noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains focused on governance and the continued development of Ondo State, particularly in areas such as security, employment, education, and infrastructure.

Hon. Olakunori called on the people of the state to remain calm and law-abiding while allowing the judicial process to run its full course up to the Supreme Court, which remains the final arbiter in such matters.

Signed:
Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Group
