The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael, has stated that many critics of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa have continued to misinterpret the circumstances surrounding his emergence as Governor of Ondo State.
According to the DG, the foundation of the misunderstanding lies in the failure of some political actors to recognize that leadership is not always a product of human calculation alone, but often a manifestation of divine purpose.
What many critics do not understand is that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s emergence was not accidental, nor was it solely engineered by individuals. It was a process guided by destiny. God chooses whom He wills, and when He ordains a leader, no man can overturn that decision,” he said.
Hon. Olakunori emphasized that while political structures and alliances play roles in governance, they cannot override divine will.
Yes, people may have contributed in one way or the other, but no individual can claim ownership of a mandate that is divinely established. At best, they were instruments used to fulfill a greater plan. And once that plan is in motion, no human force can stop it.
He further noted that critics who continue to oppose the governor based on personal sentiments or perceived political entitlement are only resisting what has already been settled beyond human control.
Opposition is part of democracy, but misunderstanding destiny is a costly mistake. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership has continued to stabilize the state and drive development, proving that his emergence was not only legitimate but purposeful.
The DG therefore called on all political stakeholders to move beyond unnecessary contention and support the administration for the overall progress of Ondo State.
When God ordains a leader, the wisest decision is alignment, not resistance. That is the reality many critics must come to terms with, he concluded.
