The Opomulero Movement, under the leadership of its Director General, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, wishes to clarify its position at the Ondo Central Senatorial Leaders’ Meeting held yesterday, where the Movement aligned in support of Hon. Tomisin.

Our decision was not driven by sentiment, favoritism, or personal interest, but firmly rooted in our long-standing commitment to party unity, political stability, and collective progress within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.

As a responsible and forward-looking political movement, Opomulero has consistently advocated for consensus-building among aspirants and stakeholders, in line with the inclusive leadership style of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. It is on this foundation that our position at the meeting was taken.

After careful consultation and political assessment, the Movement is convinced that Hon. Tomisin stands out as the most viable and strategic choice capable of delivering victory for the APC in Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency. His acceptability, grassroots connection, and alignment with the broader interests of the party place him in a strong position to unite stakeholders and mobilize support across the constituency.

Supporting Hon. Tomisin reflects a broader strategic alignment aimed at:
- Strengthening cohesion among party leaders in Ondo Central
- Preventing avoidable divisions that could weaken the party structure
- Presenting a credible and widely accepted candidate capable of winning decisively
At this critical time in our political journey, what Ondo Central—and indeed the entire state—needs is not conflict, but collaboration; not fragmentation, but focus.
The Opomulero Movement remains committed to playing a stabilizing role within the party by supporting decisions and individuals that foster peace, inclusiveness, and sustainable political growth.
We urge all party faithful and stakeholders to embrace dialogue, mutual respect, and unity of purpose as we continue to build a stronger and more formidable APC in Ondo State.
Signed:
Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Movement
