The Opomulero Movement has taken note of growing concerns among constituents over the increasing disconnect between some federal lawmakers and the grassroots, a situation largely attributed to prolonged absence from their constituencies due to engagements in Abuja.
While acknowledging the importance of legislative responsibilities at the national level, the Movement emphasizes that effective representation must go beyond Abuja. True leadership is measured by consistent presence, accessibility, and direct engagement with the people.
In this regard, the perceived distance of Senator Adegbonmire and Hon. Ipinsagba from their constituents has continued to generate criticism and concern among the electorate, who expect visible and impactful representation.
It is against this backdrop that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a decisive and strategic step by supporting Taiwo Fasoranti, a move widely seen as an effort to bridge the widening gap between political leadership and the grassroots.
Taiwo Fasoranti represents a responsive, accessible, and people-centered approach to leadership—qualities that resonate strongly with the aspirations of the grassroots and the current realities of our political landscape.
The Movement also reiterates that this development further validates the leadership model of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, whose governance style continues to prioritize closeness to the people, inclusiveness, and grassroots development across Ondo State.
At a time when concerns over distant representation are becoming more pronounced, Governor Aiyedatiwa has remained a shining example of responsive leadership, consistently engaging with communities and ensuring that governance is felt at all levels.
The Opomulero Movement therefore commends the APC leadership for its foresight and boldness in supporting Taiwo Fasoranti, describing it as a necessary step toward restoring confidence, strengthening party–people relations, and promoting accountable leadership.
We reaffirm our unwavering support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and call on all public office holders to emulate this people-driven approach to governance.
