The Director General of the Opomulero Movement, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has described the recent article written by Sola Ajisafe, Esq titled “The Governor’s Scissors: Cutting Performance For Obedience And Consensus As A Weapon In Ondo Politics” as exaggerated political analysis designed to create unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.

According to the DG, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains one of the most peaceful, accommodating, and politically strategic leaders Ondo State has produced in recent times, contrary to the picture of fear and vendetta painted by the writer.

Hon. Olasupo stated that what some critics describe as “consensus” is simply the normal political process of consultation, negotiation, reconciliation, and strategic balancing aimed at preserving party unity and electoral victory ahead of future elections.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa is not destroying relationships or silencing political leaders. He is strengthening the APC through peace, inclusion, and consultation. Politics is about negotiation, understanding, and party survival, not personal entitlement,” he said.

The DG further noted that no individual owns any political office and that every democratic process naturally involves interests, alignments, consultations, and decisions taken in the best interest of the party and the people.

Reacting specifically to claims concerning Hon. Taiwo Fasoranti, Hon. Olasupo described him as a loyal, grassroots-oriented, and widely accepted political figure whose aspiration continues to enjoy support because of his humility, accessibility, and long-standing relationship with party members and ordinary citizens.

“Taiwo Fasoranti did not emerge through intimidation or political conspiracy. His growing acceptance is a reflection of the confidence many stakeholders and grassroots supporters have in his capacity, loyalty, and ability to unite people,” the DG added.

He also rejected the suggestion that Governor Aiyedatiwa is pursuing any hidden political agenda against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s interest, stressing that the Governor has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the APC leadership and remains committed to strengthening the party structure across Ondo State.

Hon. Olasupo emphasized that APC members in Ondo State are more interested in stability, development, continuity, and electoral victory than intellectual theories intended to divide the party.

“The people of Ondo State can clearly see the difference between constructive leadership and political provocation. Governor Aiyedatiwa has focused on governance, peace-building, and strengthening party unity, while some individuals continue to promote suspicion and unnecessary conflict for political relevance,” he stated.

The DG Opomulero therefore called on party faithful, stakeholders, and political actors to avoid inflammatory narratives capable of overheating the polity and instead support ongoing efforts to maintain peace, reconciliation, and progress within the APC family.
