The ongoing crisis, tension, and confusion surrounding the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Ondo State are clear signs that personal ambition and political supremacy battles are gradually weakening the unity of the party.

Recent developments within the Ondo APC have shown increasing disagreements, accusations of candidate imposition, and internal power struggles among key stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections. Reports have also highlighted concerns from party elders and stakeholders over growing divisions within the party structure.

Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, popularly known as DG OPOMULERO, stated that the alleged governorship ambition and growing political influence battle linked to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, are contributing to the difficult atmosphere currently affecting APC primaries in Ondo State.

According to DG OPOMULERO, politics should be about service, unity, and strengthening the party structure, not creating unnecessary political tension capable of dividing loyal party members across the state.

He warned that if care is not taken, personal interests and political over-ambition could create deeper cracks within the APC ahead of future elections.

DG OPOMULERO also urged leaders and stakeholders within the party to embrace peace, fairness, and internal democracy, stressing that the survival and victory of the APC in Ondo State must remain more important than individual political calculations.

He called on party leaders to avoid actions capable of causing disunity and appealed to members to remain calm and committed to the progress of the APC despite the current challenges.
