The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has strongly condemned the recent comments made by Hon. Abiola Obanoye during his interview on Crest FM against the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Isaac Omowunmi, describing them as misleading, politically motivated, and completely disconnected from the realities of governance in Ondo State.

DG Opomulero stated that Hon. Isaac Omowunmi has distinguished himself as a competent, disciplined, and result-oriented public servant whose contributions to the success of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration are visible to all well-meaning citizens of the state.

According to him, while constructive criticism remains a vital part of democracy, deliberate attempts to discredit hardworking government officials for political relevance should be rejected by the public.

He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has continued to earn the confidence of the people through prudent financial management, strategic investments, and impactful developmental projects across the state, adding that Hon. Isaac Omowunmi remains one of the key drivers of these achievements.

Reacting to claims regarding the political strength of Owo and the outcome of the last governorship election, DG Opomulero emphasized that the over 33,000 votes recorded were the collective product of the sacrifices, commitment, and hard work of thousands of party members, leaders, stakeholders, and supporters. He stressed that no individual should attempt to appropriate the efforts of an entire political family for personal recognition.

He further described the ongoing political engagements across Owo Kingdom as a celebration of the kingdom’s historic contributions to the political and cultural development of Ondo State and Nigeria.

DG Opomulero also addressed discussions surrounding the leadership dynamics within Owo Kingdom, noting that differences among political leaders are normal in every democratic setting. According to him, what is being witnessed is largely a contest of political interests, as every politician naturally seeks to protect and advance his or her political aspirations.

He maintained that such disagreements should not be used as a tool to destroy the legacies, unity, and political structures painstakingly built over the years by respected leaders and stakeholders of Owo Kingdom. He urged all parties involved to pursue reconciliation, mutual respect, and constructive engagement in the interest of the people and the continued progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

DG Opomulero advised Hon. Abiola Obanoye, who is now a member of the Accord Party, to focus on promoting his political agenda and seeking the support of the electorate rather than launching attacks against government officials who are diligently serving the people.

He concluded by urging political actors to place the development of Ondo State above personal interests and embrace issue-based politics capable of advancing democratic growth and good governance.

Signed:

Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Group.
