The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael (DG Opomulero), has described the recent Facebook video by Hon. Timileyi Adelegbe, in which he celebrated what he termed an “Abuja victory” over the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as unfortunate, politically mischievous, and completely unacceptable to the peace-loving people of Owo/Ose and Ondo State at large.
DG Opomulero stated that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains the duly elected Governor of Ondo State and continues to enjoy the confidence and support of the people through purposeful leadership, developmental projects, and inclusive governance.
He dismissed Adelegbe’s claim that the Deputy Governor is politically irrelevant in Owo as false, divisive, and capable of creating unnecessary political tension. According to him, Governor Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy enjoy a cordial working relationship and remain united in delivering the dividends of democracy to every part of Ondo State.

DG Opomulero also condemned Hon. Adelegbe’s reported remarks suggesting that traditional rulers are not constitutional authorities. While acknowledging that the Constitution defines the formal structures of government, he stressed that traditional rulers remain highly respected custodians of the people’s culture, history, and values, and continue to play a vital role in promoting peace, unity, and development across their communities.
«”The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, and other traditional rulers deserve the highest respect and should never be spoken of in a manner that diminishes their revered status. Governor Aiyedatiwa has maintained a cordial relationship with the Olowo of Owo and traditional rulers across Ondo State, and that mutual respect has contributed significantly to peace and stability.”»
Responding to Adelegbe’s remarks that the Deputy Governor was “chained” in government during his time in office, DG Opomulero described the statement as irresponsible political rhetoric that does not reflect the reality of governance in Ondo State. He maintained that the Governor and Deputy Governor continue to work harmoniously, discharging their constitutional responsibilities in the overall interest of the people.
DG Opomulero further challenged Hon. Adelegbe to render an account of his stewardship after spending eight years representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

Adelegbe should tell the people how he utilized the constituency resources available to him and identify the enduring projects and measurable achievements he delivered during his eight years in the House of Representatives. The people deserve to evaluate his performance before any fresh political ambition.”»
He reiterated that, with or without Hon. Adelegbe’s support, the people of Owo/Ose remain committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and will continue to support Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s developmental agenda for Ondo State.
DG Opomulero concluded that the people of Owo/Ose will determine their political future through the ballot box, emphasizing that any aspirant seeking elective office must earn the people’s trust through credible performance, effective representation, and genuine commitment to public service.
