It is understandable that many people have called and advised me to stop engaging what they consider the madness and unreasonable conduct of Unserious JAF on social media platforms. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I sincerely appreciate everyone who has reached out to me. The Holy Scripture says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
I value every piece of advice offered to me in the spirit of peace, love, brotherhood, and genuine concern.
Indeed, I deeply appreciate everyone who has spoken to me on this matter. Many people, including members of his family, relatives, respected elders, critical stakeholders, and prominent political leaders in Ondo State, have also reached out to me. I respect their counsel and I understand the desire of many people to see peace maintained.
However, I respectfully appeal that Unserious JAF should equally be called to order. His continuous activities on social media are becoming increasingly unacceptable. No responsible society should encourage the deliberate spread of misinformation, falsehood, or narratives capable of misleading the public. Peace should not mean allowing falsehood to go unanswered.
As Yoruba people, we were raised to respect our elders, honour our traditional institutions, respect political leaders, and accord dignity to constituted authorities. Our culture places great value on ìwà ọmọlúàbí—good character, decency, humility, self-restraint, and responsible conduct.
Constructive criticism is welcome in every democracy. Government officials are not above scrutiny, and citizens have every right to question policies and demand accountability. But there is a clear difference between legitimate criticism and insults, character assassination, deliberate distortion of facts, and the repeated dissemination of information that is presented as fact without credible evidence.
No one is saying that the APC-led government in Ondo State should not be criticised. What we reject is the deliberate attempt to create a false impression about the performance of the government and the person of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, through misleading narratives.
Governor Aiyedatiwa is working to improve the state’s economy, strengthen security, develop infrastructure, and expand social services. Whether one supports him politically or not, these issues deserve objective assessment rather than deliberate distortion.
Responsible citizens have a moral obligation to correct falsehood wherever they encounter it.
With that said, I sincerely appreciate everyone for your fatherly, motherly, and brotherly concern. Your advice means a great deal to me. Nevertheless, with the utmost respect and humility, I cannot simply stop responding to Unserious JAF while he continues to disseminate what I consider false and misleading information against the APC-led government in Ondo State and His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Some people may believe that responding to him is a waste of time. I respectfully disagree.
We are not wasting our time; we are confronting misinformation with facts.
Social media has become one of the most powerful channels through which people receive information. Millions of people now depend on online platforms for news, political commentary, and public affairs. When false claims are repeatedly circulated without challenge, some people may eventually accept them as truth.
Therefore, correcting misinformation is not necessarily a waste of time. It can be a civic responsibility.
As for Unserious JAF, I believe his approach to political discourse has become irresponsible and unbecoming of someone who should understand the consequences of his words. Political disagreement should never become an excuse for reckless attacks, personal insults, or the deliberate distortion of facts.
We all know His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as a calm and composed individual. Despite the insults, attacks, bullying, and name-calling that have been directed at him, he has continued to demonstrate restraint, humility, maturity, and the temperament expected of a leader.
That restraint should not be interpreted as weakness.
The Governor’s decision to remain focused on governance rather than respond to every provocation is a demonstration of leadership.
Therefore, let me make my position clear.
As long as Unserious JAF continues to make claims that I believe are false, distort facts, or attempt to mislead the public for political purposes, I will continue to respond—not with insults, but with facts, evidence, logic, and intellectual engagement.
I will not descend into personal abuse. I will not engage in character assassination. I will not manufacture stories to answer stories.
But I will challenge misinformation.
Silence in the face of deliberate falsehood is not always a virtue. Sometimes, silence allows falsehood to become accepted as truth.
It is also difficult to understand why a grown man would continually attack a constituted authority and a government he has previously benefited from, particularly when the disagreement appears to be driven by personal political interests or ambitions.
Political ambition is legitimate. Seeking public office is legitimate. Criticising government is legitimate.
But political ambition should never become a licence to destroy institutions, ridicule constituted authority, or mislead the public.
Yoruba culture teaches us ìwà ọmọlúàbí. It teaches gratitude, respect, humility, honour, and responsibility. Those values should remain relevant even in the age of social media.
So, to everyone who has advised me to keep quiet, I hear you, I respect you, and I sincerely appreciate you.
But I also ask for your understanding.
I will choose peace, but I will not surrender truth.
I will respect my opponents, but I will not endorse misinformation.
I will remain civil, but I will continue to challenge falsehood with facts.
And I will continue to defend the truth as I understand it, while holding the APC-led administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to the same standard of accountability that every responsible government deserves.
This is not about hatred.
It is not about personal vendetta.
It is about responsibility.
