The attention of the Opomulero Movement has been drawn to the publication by Barr. Sola Ajisafe, titled “Rise Up Owo Axis: Your Suitable Senatorial Aspirant should End Ondo North’s Dark History.”
While we acknowledge his attempt at intellectual discourse, we must firmly reject the misleading narrative and set the record straight.
Let it be stated clearly and without apology:
It is the Akoko axis — not Owo — that has occupied the Senate seat for 16 uninterrupted years.
Any attempt to distort this fact or emotionally blackmail Ondo North into recycling power is not only misleading but a direct assault on equity, fairness, and political balance.
The Senate is not a family inheritance. It is not reserved for any axis. It must reflect justice, inclusion, and rotation.
Beyond the Senate seat, the facts on ground expose a clear pattern of political domination by the Akoko bloc, which currently controls:
Minister of Interior
Minister of State for Finance
Present Senator
Director General, Industrial Training Fund (ITF)
Managing Director, Bank of Industry
Executive Director (Projects), South West Development Commission
Executive Director, South West NEMSA
Southwest Representative, Code of Conduct Bureau
Executive Director, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC)
State Party Chairman
Two Members of the House of Representatives
Yet, Owo/Ose has zero representation in the National Assembly.
This is not imbalance — this is structural marginalisation.
Let us speak plainly without sugarcoating the truth:
Akoko has held the Senate seat for 16 consecutive years, yet the impact of that long reign — particularly under Senator Ipinsagba — has produced little or no meaningful result for Ondo North.
After such prolonged control, the question is simple:
- What tangible transformation can be pointed to?
- What defining legacy justifies this dominance?
The answer is glaring — the district has not felt the expected impact.
It is therefore unacceptable for Barr. Sola Ajisafe to attempt to intellectualise or defend a system that has clearly underdelivered.
If he truly seeks to address “dark history,” then he must confront this obvious failure and injustice, not attempt to justify its continuation.
History is clear. During the administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, zoning and fairness were deliberately applied in favour of Akoko, and it was accepted across board.
Why is it now difficult to extend that same fairness to Owo/Ose?
This is not about sentiment. It is about justice, balance, and political sustainability.
The facts remain undeniable:
Akoko has dominated for 16 years
Key political and national positions are concentrated in Akoko
Owo/Ose has been completely sidelined
The results of this dominance have not justified its continuation
Let it be made clear:
Ondo North cannot continue on the path of political monopoly without results.
Owo/Ose cannot and will not accept this impunity.
The path forward is clear and non-negotiable:
- Power must rotate
- Equity must be respected
- Justice must prevail over political manipulation
For true unity and fairness in Ondo North, this is the time for Owo/Ose to take its rightful place in the Senate and House of Representatives.
Owo/Ose is not begging — it is asserting its rightful place.
No amount of intellectual packaging can justify injustice.
No amount of rhetoric can defend failure.
Enough is enough.
