The attention of the Opomulero Group has been drawn to a sensational and clearly mischievous publication alleging that the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, has been invited by the Police over criminal conspiracy and other weighty accusations.
Ordinarily, we would not dignify such recycled tactics of political blackmail with a response, but it is important to set the record straight and prevent the public from being misled.
First, an invitation by the Nigeria Police Force is not a conviction, nor does it translate to guilt. In a democratic society governed by the rule of law, individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
What is playing out is nothing but a calculated attempt by desperate political elements to tarnish the image of a hardworking and result-driven public servant whose only “offence” is her commitment to transparency, accountability, and financial discipline in Ondo State.
Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac has conducted herself with integrity in office, and her stewardship of the state’s finances has remained focused, prudent, and people-oriented despite economic pressures.
We have absolute confidence that she will honour any lawful invitation and fully cooperate with authorities, and we are equally confident that this process will expose the truth and clear her name of these exaggerated and politically motivated allegations.
We must also caution those behind this smear campaign: Ondo State is not a battleground for character assassination. Dragging innocent individuals into fabricated controversies will not rewrite the reality of good governance under the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
This government remains focused, and no amount of distraction—whether through propaganda, intimidation, or false accusations—will derail its commitment to service delivery.
We urge the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and not be swayed by unverified and sensational claims.
The truth does not fear investigation.
