The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has applauded the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for what he described as a bold and transformative step towards strengthening the healthcare system and overall development of the state.

Reacting to the State Executive Council’s approval of 500-bedded hospital projects across Akure, Ikare, Ore, Okitipupa and other parts of the state, the DG said the initiative clearly demonstrates a government that is committed to improving the quality of life of its people.

Hon. Olakunori particularly commended the strategic spread of the hospitals, noting that the inclusion of 100-bedded and 50-bedded facilities across multiple senatorial districts will significantly enhance access to quality healthcare services, especially for residents in underserved communities.

He further praised the introduction of the “one-stop shop” hospital model, describing it as a modern and efficient approach that will reduce delays in treatment and improve patient experience across government health facilities.

“The approval of these hospital projects is not just about infrastructure; it is about saving lives, restoring hope, and ensuring that every citizen of Ondo State has access to timely and quality medical care,” he stated.

The DG also lauded the approval for the construction of a new neuropsychiatric hospital and the upgrade of the existing facility in Akure, stressing that the move is both timely and necessary in addressing the rising cases of mental health challenges and substance abuse.

According to him, “This intervention shows that the Aiyedatiwa administration understands the evolving health needs of the people and is ready to confront them with modern solutions.”

Hon. Olakunori equally acknowledged the approval for advanced medical equipment, including CT scan, MRI, and mammography machines, noting that such investments will reduce medical tourism and strengthen the capacity of healthcare institutions within the state.

On traditional matters, the DG welcomed the recognition and appointment of new traditional rulers across various communities, describing it as a step towards preserving cultural heritage and strengthening grassroots governance.

He concluded that the decisions reached by the State Executive Council reflect a purposeful and forward-thinking leadership committed to rebuilding Ondo State across critical sectors.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa is not just making promises; he is delivering results. From healthcare to infrastructure and traditional institutions, the signs of a working government are clear for all to see,” he added.
