The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori (DG Opomulero), has commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for unveiling plans to recruit 1,000 youths under the Forest Guard Initiative, describing the programme as a bold and strategic step towards strengthening security and empowering young people across the state.
Speaking during the Opomulero Leadership Meeting held today, Hon. Olakunori noted that the initiative demonstrates Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to addressing security challenges while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for youths.
According to him, the recruitment of 1,000 young people into the Forest Guard Initiative will enhance intelligence gathering, improve surveillance of forest reserves and support ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities within the state.
The DG Opomulero also applauded the Governor’s continued support for youth development, particularly the release of funds that enabled Ondo State delegates to participate effectively in the activities of the Nigeria Youth Parliament in Abuja. He described the gesture as another indication of the Governor’s belief in youth inclusion and leadership development.
“The Governor has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of young people through empowerment programmes, infrastructure development, job creation initiatives and inclusive governance. This Forest Guard Initiative is another practical step that will benefit our youths while making our communities safer,” Olakunori stated.
He urged eligible youths to take advantage of the opportunity when the recruitment process begins and to remain committed to peace, productivity and the development of Ondo State.
The Opomulero Leadership Meeting reaffirmed its support for policies and programmes of the Aiyedatiwa administration aimed at enhancing security, creating jobs and promoting sustainable development across the state.
