The attention of the Directorate of the Opomulero Group has been drawn to the repeated public commentaries by Mr. Jimmy Adekanle, popularly known as JAF, in which he consistently attacks the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa while promoting the political profile of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO).

The pattern has become unmistakable. Every intervention by JAF appears calculated to diminish the achievements of Governor Aiyedatiwa while projecting BTO as the preferred political alternative. Ondo people are politically conscious enough to distinguish governance from political propaganda.

If JAF genuinely believes in BTO’s leadership capacity, he should market BTO’s record and vision instead of making Governor Aiyedatiwa the constant target of political attacks. No political ambition is strengthened by persistently attacking a serving Governor from the same political party.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has barely spent one year in office, yet some individuals have already commenced premature political campaigns capable of creating unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and distracting the government from its developmental agenda. This is not only ill-timed but also unfair to the people of Ondo State, who elected Governor Aiyedatiwa to govern, not to be dragged into needless succession politics.

It is evident from numerous public social media posts that a section of BTO’s supporters consistently attack Governor Aiyedatiwa while promoting the Minister’s political future. Many of these posts deliberately place BTO’s image alongside that of Governor Aiyedatiwa to invite political comparison and fuel unnecessary division within the APC.

If these campaigns are not endorsed by Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, then leadership demands that he publicly distance himself from them and call on his supporters to stop actions capable of undermining party unity and the authority of a duly elected APC Governor. Party faithful deserve clarity, especially when repeated public attacks risk creating the impression of an unnecessary internal political contest.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has chosen the path of governance. His administration continues to record measurable achievements in road infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, youth and women empowerment, agriculture, and economic development. These are the issues that deserve the attention of every progressive-minded citizen—not premature campaigns for future political offices.

The APC has always been built on loyalty, discipline, and respect for constituted authority. Every stakeholder has a responsibility to strengthen, not weaken, the party. Any attempt to overheat the political atmosphere barely one year into the tenure of a sitting APC Governor does not advance the collective interest of the party or the people of Ondo State.

We therefore call on Jimmy Adekanle (JAF) to abandon the politics of endless attacks and embrace constructive, issue-based engagement. Political ambition is legitimate, but it must never take precedence over party unity, responsible leadership, and the stability required for good governance to thrive.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains focused, undistracted, and committed to delivering the dividends of democracy. No amount of political grandstanding, media attacks, or premature succession campaigns will distract him from fulfilling the mandate freely given to him by the people of Ondo State.
