The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael, has commended the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for unveiling free Caesarean Sections (CS) and pregnancy kits as part of his administration’s efforts to improve maternal healthcare across the state.

The DG described the initiative as a clear demonstration that the Aiyedatiwa administration is putting the lives, welfare and dignity of women and children at the centre of its governance agenda.

According to him, access to safe childbirth should never become a privilege reserved for families who can afford expensive medical bills.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again demonstrated that governance is not only about constructing roads and buildings; it is fundamentally about protecting human lives. A pregnant woman should be able to walk into a government hospital without the fear that she may lose her life simply because she cannot afford the cost of a Caesarean Section.

“This intervention will bring enormous relief to expectant mothers, particularly women from low-income families. Free CS and pregnancy kits can make the difference between anxiety and hope, and in some cases, between life and death.”

Hon. Olakunori further said the initiative should be viewed as part of a broader commitment by the Aiyedatiwa administration to strengthen the health sector and make quality healthcare more accessible to ordinary residents.

He urged beneficiaries and healthcare workers to support the programme by ensuring that the intervention is properly implemented and reaches those for whom it was designed.

The Opomulero DG also challenged political critics of the administration to acknowledge positive developments whenever they occur, stressing that partisan politics should not blind anyone to policies capable of saving lives.

“Politics will come and go, but the life of a mother and her baby is priceless. Whenever a government introduces a policy that directly reduces the burden on our people, especially vulnerable families, such an initiative deserves commendation.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa is showing that a government can be politically responsible and socially responsive at the same time. This is not about APC or PDP; this is about Ondo people.”

He congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa and the state’s healthcare professionals for the initiative, expressing confidence that sustained investment in maternal and primary healthcare would further improve health outcomes across Ondo State.

Hon. Olakunori urged the people of Ondo State to continue supporting policies that directly improve their quality of life, saying the free maternal healthcare intervention is another example of the administration’s determination to make governance felt beyond government offices and in the homes of ordinary citizens.
