The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for what he described as a strategic and life-saving investment in the health sector through the establishment and operationalization of the medical oxygen plant at State Specialist Hospital Akure.
Hon. Olakunori noted that the development, which now enables the hospital to supply medical oxygen to key health institutions such as Federal Medical Centre Owo and Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital Complex, represents a major milestone in strengthening Ondo State’s healthcare delivery system.
According to the DG Opomulero, the initiative demonstrates Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to building a resilient and self-sustaining healthcare infrastructure capable of saving lives and responding effectively to medical emergencies across the state.
He emphasized that access to medical oxygen remains a critical component of modern healthcare, particularly for emergency care, surgeries, maternal health, pediatric treatment, and the management of respiratory conditions. He added that the governor’s intervention has reduced the long-standing dependence on external suppliers and has positioned Ondo State as a producer capable of supporting other medical facilities.
Hon. Olakunori also applauded the Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akeredolu O. N., for his leadership and dedication to strengthening healthcare management across the state.
He further commended the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. (Mrs.) Eniowo, for her exemplary administration and professionalism in ensuring the efficient operation of the oxygen plant and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
The DG Opomulero stated that the achievement reflects the broader vision of Governor Aiyedatiwa to modernize the state’s health infrastructure and improve access to quality healthcare for all residents of Ondo State.
