The Director General of Opomulero Group, DG Opomulero, has reacted to recent political commentary by Mogbojuyi KAYODE and issued a firm warning to supporters and loyalists of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, urging them to desist from what he described as “premature and destabilizing 2028 governorship permutations” in Ondo State.
According to him, emerging narratives being circulated within political spaces suggesting early positioning for the 2028 governorship election are not only unnecessary but capable of undermining the delicate political balance that has long sustained unity and stability in the state.
DG Opomulero stressed that Ondo State’s political structure has historically been guided by an unwritten but widely respected principle of senatorial zoning and power rotation, which must not be disregarded for individual ambition or political experimentation.
He noted that the North has recently completed its tenure under the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, while the South is currently producing the sitting Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
“In clear terms, any attempt to force or aggressively market a return of governorship ambition from the same direction immediately after the North–South sequence is not only politically insensitive, but a direct threat to the equity that holds Ondo together,” he stated.
He further cautioned BTO loyalists against what he termed “overheated political calculations” barely one year into the current administration, insisting that governance should be allowed to mature before succession debates are introduced into public discourse.
DG Opomulero maintained that while every citizen has the right to political ambition, such ambition must align with timing, fairness, and respect for established political harmony.
“Ambition is not the problem,” he said. “What becomes dangerous is when ambition begins to override structure, distort equity, and disregard the principle of rotation that has helped maintain peace in Ondo politics.”
He concluded by reaffirming that the political future of Ondo State cannot be shaped by early propaganda or media-driven narratives, stressing that the people of the state remain politically conscious and will ultimately decide leadership direction when the appropriate time comes.
