HON. ISAAC OMOWUNMI’S POLITICAL STRENGTH AND THE OVER 33,000 VOTES DELIVERED FOR AIYEDATIWA IN OWO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ATTACKS; ABUJA-BASED POLITICAL MERCHANTS ARE BEHIND ADIDAS’ RECENT OUTBURSTS — DG OPOMULERO

The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has described the allegations made by Hon. Abiola Obanoyen (Adidas) during his appearance on Crest FM as baseless, misleading, and politically motivated.

According to DG Opomulero, the reckless accusations against the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Isaac Omowunmi, have exposed a desperate agenda by certain Abuja-based political merchants who are uncomfortable with the growing popularity, sterling performance, and widespread acceptance of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration across Ondo State.

DG Opomulero stated that beyond his outstanding performance as Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Isaac Omowunmi remains one of the strongest political assets of the Aiyedatiwa administration, having played a significant role in mobilizing support that contributed to the Governor’s overwhelming victory in Owo Local Government, where over 33,000 votes were delivered for the APC.

“It is unfortunate that Hon. Abiola Obanoyen chose a public platform to spread unsubstantiated allegations against a hardworking and result-oriented Commissioner whose contributions to the financial stability of the state and the political success of our party are evident for all to see. The remarkable electoral performance recorded in Owo speaks volumes about his commitment, capacity, and grassroots acceptance,” he stated.

DG Opomulero also expressed concern over Obanoyen’s claim that some APC leaders in Owo have been politically imprisoned or sidelined. He challenged the former lawmaker to provide evidence to support such a serious allegation.

DG Opomulero noted that it is even more surprising that such claims are coming from Hon. Abiola Obanoyen, who is now aligned with the Accord Party and has consistently shown discomfort with the growing strength and unity of the APC in Owo.

“It is ironic that someone who no longer identifies with the APC is suddenly presenting himself as a defender of APC leaders. If indeed the leaders he referred to are in any form of political prison, the public deserves to know where this prison exists because those same leaders are freely attending political meetings, participating in community activities, interacting with supporters, and living peacefully in their homes.”

He stressed that no responsible political figure should make such weighty allegations without evidence, noting that the leaders referenced by Obanoyen continue to enjoy their freedom and remain active in both party and community affairs.

“Such reckless and unsubstantiated statements reveal a desperate attempt to create confusion, division, and mistrust within the APC in Owo. The people of Owo are politically sophisticated and can clearly see through these antics. Hon. Obanoyen’s comments suggest a coordinated effort by external political interests to weaken the APC structure in Owo, but such efforts will ultimately fail because the party remains united, strong, and focused under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.”

DG Opomulero added that individuals allegedly referenced by Obanoyen as APC leaders should also be viewed with caution if they are secretly encouraging attacks against a successful APC-led administration while publicly professing loyalty to the party.

“Anyone wearing APC attire during the day and working against the party and Governor Aiyedatiwa at night cannot be regarded as a genuine stakeholder. Such individuals are driven by personal ambition, political bitterness, and a desperate quest for relevance. The APC belongs to loyal party members, not political pretenders.”

The DG noted that Hon. Isaac Omowunmi has consistently demonstrated competence, loyalty, transparency, and administrative capacity in managing the finances of the state, thereby strengthening public confidence in government and contributing immensely to the success of the Aiyedatiwa administration.

He emphasized that the people of Ondo State are witnessing unprecedented infrastructural development, prudent financial management, and people-oriented governance under Governor Aiyedatiwa, stressing that no amount of propaganda, blackmail, or sponsored attacks can erase these visible achievements.

He advised Hon. Obanoyen and those allegedly behind his recent outbursts to embrace constructive engagement rather than resorting to campaigns of falsehood, bitterness, and character assassination against dedicated public servants.

DG Opomulero reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Opomulero Group for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Isaac Omowunmi, assuring the people of Ondo State that the group will continue to defend truth, promote good governance, and support the developmental strides being recorded by the administration.

Signed:

Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Group
