The Director General of the Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has said that the overwhelming victory of Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ondo Central Senatorial Primary clearly demonstrates that party leaders and delegates preferred competence, acceptability, and a fresh vision over mere incumbency and ranking. Dr. Fasoranti won the primary by a wide margin, polling 36,652 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, who secured 5,733 votes.
According to Hon. Olakunori, the outcome of the primary election sends a strong message that democracy is about the will of the people and not about titles or political seniority.
He noted that the delegates voted massively for Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti because:
- He represents a fresh and purposeful leadership for Ondo Central.
- His rich administrative experience as former Secretary to the Ondo State Government and accomplished medical professional gives confidence that he can provide quality representation.
- He enjoys widespread acceptability across the six local government areas of Ondo Central due to his humility, accessibility, and longstanding relationship with party stakeholders.
- His vision for community development, youth empowerment, healthcare improvement, and rural integration resonates with the aspirations of the people of the district.
- His victory reflects the desire of APC members to align with the progressive and developmental agenda of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and consolidate the gains of the administration.
The DG Opomulero further stated that politics is dynamic and that no political office belongs to any individual permanently. He stressed that the delegates exercised their constitutional right by electing the candidate they believe possesses the capacity, network, and vision to attract more federal opportunities and deliver effective representation to Ondo Central.
“Leadership is earned through trust, service, and acceptability. The overwhelming support for Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti is a clear endorsement of his competence and his readiness to provide purposeful representation for the people of Ondo Central Senatorial District,” Hon. Olakunori said.
He congratulated Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti on his emergence and called on all APC members and leaders in Ondo Central to close ranks, unite behind the party’s candidate, and work together to ensure a resounding victory for the APC in the forthcoming general election.
