The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori (DG Opomulero), has stated that the worsening security challenges confronting parts of the country cannot be blamed solely on governments, stressing that the activities of informants and collaborators within communities have significantly aided criminal elements.
According to him, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated strong commitment to securing Ondo State by providing necessary support to security agencies, strengthening local security networks, and taking proactive steps to protect lives and property.
“Security is everybody’s business. No government, no matter how determined, can successfully fight insecurity when some members of the society are aiding criminals with information, shelter, and logistics.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is doing his best and has shown great commitment to the safety of our people. The Governor has consistently supported security agencies and has never relented in his efforts to ensure that Ondo State remains peaceful and secure.”
DG Opomulero therefore called on residents of Ondo State to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible intelligence, reporting suspicious movements, and avoiding actions that may compromise security operations.
He further urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, and religious organizations to work hand in hand with the government to defeat criminality.
“The fight against insecurity requires collective responsibility. We must stop shielding criminals and start protecting our communities. With the cooperation of the people and the continued efforts of Governor Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State will remain one of the safest states in Nigeria.”
