The Director General of Opomulero Group, Hon. Olasupo Olakunori, has described the decision of Africa’s foremost industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to return to the Olokola Free Trade Zone as a historic breakthrough and a resounding vote of confidence in the purposeful leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

According to Hon. Olakunori, the planned establishment of Nigeria’s biggest industrial and free trade zone in Ondo State marks the beginning of a new economic era that will transform the Sunshine State from a predominantly civil service economy into a major industrial and manufacturing hub.

“The return of Dangote to Olokola after previous setbacks is not accidental. It is a product of the investor-friendly environment, policy consistency, and the confidence that Governor Aiyedatiwa has inspired among local and international investors. This is a clear indication that Ondo State is open for business and ready for industrial prosperity.”

He noted that the proposed power generation projects, gas infrastructure, cement production, and deep seaport development would create thousands of direct and indirect jobs for the people of Ondo State, stimulate local businesses, and significantly increase the state’s internally generated revenue.

“The Governor’s vision is clear. He wants an Ondo State that is economically independent, where our youths are employed in industries and factories rather than depending solely on government jobs. The Olokola project, the deep seaport, and the gas corridor are strategic projects capable of changing the economic destiny of our state for generations.”

The DG Opomulero further commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for setting up a technical committee and involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project.

He called on traditional rulers, host communities, political leaders, and all residents of the state to support the administration’s industrialization agenda, stressing that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and collective responsibility.

“History will be kind to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa if these projects are sustained and delivered. For the first time in decades, Ondo State is on the verge of becoming a major industrial destination in Nigeria. This is the kind of bold leadership our people have yearned for.”

Hon. Olakunori therefore urged the people of Ondo State to rally behind the Governor’s vision, stating that the Dangote investment is not just a private sector project but a gateway to massive economic opportunities and sustainable development for present and future generations.
