The Convener of Tope Liberty Cares, Olowofoyekun Temitope Dadeowo, has described the recent comments credited to Jimmy Adekanle JAF against the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as nothing more than another desperate attempt to discredit a government that is delivering measurable results for the people of Ondo State.
It is unfortunate that while Governor Aiyedatiwa is concentrating on infrastructure development, educational reforms, independent power generation, improved water supply, workers’ welfare and economic growth, some politicians have chosen to distract the public with baseless political attacks.
The claim that Governor Aiyedatiwa is incapable of leading even a local government is not only unfounded but also insulting to the intelligence of the people of Ondo State, who continue to witness the positive impact of his administration across the 18 local government areas.
The recent approval of the Owena Hydropower Project, the 7.5-megawatt gas-powered electricity project, the conversion of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic into a University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, and the ratification of critical infrastructure projects are clear evidence of purposeful leadership. These are the actions of a governor focused on development, not politics.
It is also misleading to drag Governor Aiyedatiwa into a private legal dispute that is already before a competent court of law. Judicial proceedings involving individuals should not be twisted into political attacks against a governor who is not a party to the case.
Tope Liberty Cares believes that democracy is strengthened through constructive criticism supported by facts, not by inflammatory rhetoric or attempts to create unnecessary political tension.
If Jimmy Adekanle JAF genuinely believes he has better ideas for the development of Ondo State, he should present them to the people instead of engaging in constant attacks on a Governor whose achievements are visible across the state.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has remained focused despite distractions and has continued to demonstrate capacity, humility and commitment to good governance. The people of Ondo State will ultimately judge every leader by performance, not by political propaganda.
We therefore urge all well-meaning citizens to remain steadfast in their support for policies and programmes that promote peace, unity and sustainable development. No amount of political blackmail or misinformation can diminish the remarkable progress being recorded under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
