AJISAFE’S ENDLESS CRITICISM HAS BECOME A POLITICAL SCRIPT; THE PEOPLE OF ONDO STATE DESERVE SOLUTIONS, NOT PERPETUAL NEGATIVITY — TOPE LIBERTY CARES

The attention of Tope Liberty Cares has been drawn to the latest publication by Barrister Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe, once again portraying himself as the conscience of Ondo State while offering little beyond familiar criticism and political grandstanding.

In every democracy, constructive criticism is not only welcome but necessary. However, criticism loses its moral authority when it becomes selective, repetitive and deliberately blind to visible achievements. A critic who refuses to acknowledge progress, no matter how obvious, is no longer serving the public interest but advancing a predetermined narrative.

Barrister Ajisafe repeatedly demands accountability from Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, yet he conveniently ignores the facts before him. Within just one year, the administration has facilitated over 3,000 employment opportunities across different sectors, embarked on major road and infrastructure projects, strengthened healthcare delivery, improved workers’ welfare, settled retirees’ entitlements, invested in education, and expanded security interventions across Ondo State. These are verifiable achievements that cannot be erased by opinion articles.

It is therefore not surprising that even respected opposition figures have acknowledged these realities. The Ondo State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Pastor Peter Olagookun, publicly commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s performance and urged residents to ignore the campaign of propaganda against the Governor. His position demonstrates that good governance can be recognised beyond partisan boundaries by those who choose facts over political bitterness.

If an opposition party chairman can objectively commend the Governor’s performance, why is Barrister Ajisafe determined to see failure where many independent observers see progress? This raises a legitimate question about whether his interventions are driven by objective assessment or by an unyielding political position.

Democracy demands that governments answer legitimate questions, but it equally demands honesty from critics. It is intellectually inconsistent to dismiss every achievement as insignificant while magnifying every challenge as evidence of total failure. Governance should be evaluated in its entirety, not through selective outrage.

Barrister Ajisafe frequently speaks about accountability, yet accountability also requires critics to present balanced arguments. The people of Ondo State deserve more than endless fault-finding; they deserve practical alternatives. Constantly condemning government without presenting credible policy options contributes little to the development of our state.

The people of Ondo State are intelligent enough to judge this administration based on what they see and experience, not on sensational commentaries designed to generate political attention. Roads being constructed, employment opportunities being created, improvements in healthcare and education, and ongoing infrastructural development are realities that cannot be hidden by rhetoric.

Tope Liberty Cares therefore urges Barrister Oloroogun Sola Ajisafe to embrace constructive engagement rather than perpetual opposition. Ondo State needs critics who are prepared to build, not those who celebrate only when they condemn.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy through the implementation of the EASE Agenda. No amount of relentless negativity or politically motivated commentary will distract this administration from its commitment to the peace, progress and prosperity of Ondo State.
