DG OPOMULERO DEFENDS AIYEDATIWA, DISMISSES NDC CLAIMS AS MISCHIEVOUS AND MISLEADING

The attention of the Opomulero Movement has been drawn to the alarmist and unfounded statement credited to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), wherein it accused the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, of planning to disrupt the existing political arrangement in Ese-Odo Local Government.

Ordinarily, such baseless allegations would not deserve a response, but for the sake of clarity and to prevent the deliberate attempt to mislead the good people of Ese-Odo and Ondo State at large, it has become necessary to set the record straight.

First, Governor Aiyedatiwa remains a leader deeply committed to peace, fairness, and inclusiveness. His administration has consistently demonstrated respect for existing political structures and community sensibilities across the state. It is therefore surprising that a party like the NDC, which lacks both grassroots relevance and credible political standing in Ondo State, would resort to fear-mongering and unnecessary agitation.

The claims of “imposition” are not only premature but clearly speculative. As of today, no official decision or directive has been made by the Governor regarding the 2027 ticket in Ese-Odo Constituency. What the NDC has done is to manufacture tension where none exists, in a desperate attempt to gain political attention.

Governor Aiyedatiwa understands the historical importance of the rotational arrangement in Ese-Odo, and as a leader who has risen through the ranks of grassroots politics, he appreciates the need for consultation, dialogue, and consensus-building. Unlike what the NDC is trying to portray, this administration does not operate on imposition but on engagement and mutual understanding.

It is also important to caution the NDC against making careless references to the Governor’s political journey. Such comments are not only disrespectful but reveal a lack of understanding of the democratic process that brought His Excellency to office. Leadership is not a matter of chance, but of capacity, preparation, and the trust of the people.

We therefore urge the people of Ese-Odo and Ondo State to disregard this sponsored narrative. The peace in Ese-Odo remains intact, and no action of the Governor has threatened or will threaten that stability.

The Opomulero Movement stands firmly with Governor Aiyedatiwa and will continue to support his people-oriented leadership, which prioritizes unity over division and progress over political propaganda.

Those attempting to “trigger crisis” through the media should instead embrace constructive engagement rather than peddling falsehood.

Hon. Olasupo Olakunori
Director General, Opomulero Movement
