SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE; GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA’S DECISION TO STRENGTHEN ONDO STATE’S SECURITY ARCHITECTURE DESERVES COMMENDATION, NOT POLITICAL BLACKMAIL — DG OPOMULERO

The attention of the Opomulero Group has been drawn to reports and politically motivated narratives surrounding the alleged increase in Ondo State’s monthly security vote from ₦700 million to ₦3 billion.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa remains the Chief Security Officer of Ondo State, and his foremost constitutional responsibility is to protect the lives and property of all residents. At a time when insecurity continues to pose serious challenges across Nigeria, every responsible government must prioritize the safety of its people.

Those attempting to politicize security expenditure should first explain what value should be placed on the lives of innocent citizens. Security is not an area for cheap propaganda or sensational headlines.

Under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, Ondo State has continued to strengthen support for security agencies, Amotekun Corps, forest guards, intelligence gathering, and other security initiatives aimed at keeping our communities safe. These efforts require adequate funding and strategic coordination.

The ongoing issues relating to the House of Assembly should not be mischievously linked to the Governor’s commitment to protecting the people of Ondo State. Governance must continue, and security cannot be sacrificed because of political distractions.

We urge critics to allow relevant institutions to carry out their constitutional responsibilities while the Governor remains focused on delivering good governance, infrastructure development, workers’ welfare, economic growth, and improved security across the state.

The people of Ondo State are interested in results, not manufactured controversies. Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated leadership, courage, and commitment to the peace and progress of our dear state, and he deserves the support of all well-meaning citizens.

Signed:

Hon. Olasupo Olakunori Michael
Director General, Opomulero Group
