The question raised by Obadofin Ademola deserves a straightforward answer: what exactly has changed at the Ministry of Interior under Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, beyond the publicity, headlines and political noise?

Nobody is saying BTO has done nothing. The Ministry has announced several reforms and interventions. But when a minister’s supporters present him as a transformational national leader and simultaneously spend their energy attacking Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, it is legitimate to ask them to place the scorecard on the table.

Give Nigerians ten measurable achievements.

Tell us what has substantially changed in immigration services. Tell us the measurable results of correctional reforms. Tell us how border management has improved. Tell us what has been done to strengthen the Federal Fire Service. Tell us how the NSCDC’s operational capacity has been transformed. Tell us what major infrastructure has been delivered. Tell us the technological innovations that have produced verifiable results. Tell us how personnel welfare and productivity have improved. Tell us the reforms that Nigerians can independently verify. And finally, tell us the single achievement that will define BTO’s legacy at Interior.

This is not an insult. It is accountability.

A federal minister was appointed to serve Nigeria, not to become the permanent opposition to a state governor.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is focused on governance in Ondo State. Roads, bridges, healthcare, education, water, agriculture, workers’ welfare and infrastructure are matters that require attention every day. Development does not need to shout before people can see it.

So why are BTO’s supporters spending so much political energy fighting Aiyedatiwa?

If BTO’s record is as extraordinary as they claim, let the record defend him.

Let the passport reforms speak. Let immigration modernization speak. Let correctional reforms speak. Let internal-security improvements speak. Let infrastructure speak. Let measurable outcomes speak.

Nobody should be afraid of accountability.

And let me make this clear: DG Opomulero is not opposed to any Ondo son or daughter succeeding at the national level. We celebrate our people when they perform well. But political ambition must never become an excuse to undermine the stability of Ondo State or distract an elected governor from his constitutional responsibility.

BTO MUST UNDERSTAND THE REALITY OF ONDO POLITICS

What BTO and some of his supporters fail to understand about Ondo politics is simple: the people of Ondo State cannot be taken for granted, and no individual can impose himself on the people simply because he has political ambition.

History has shown us that political leadership in Ondo State is not achieved through desperation, intimidation, propaganda or constant political confrontation. Leadership is earned through the confidence of the people and, ultimately, by the grace of God.

No political ambition is bigger than the people of Ondo State.

Nobody can place himself above the collective will of the people. God gives leaders; leaders do not manufacture themselves over the people.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s performance is too significant to be reduced to political arguments or dismissed as political propaganda.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has touched lives.

His administration has impacted communities, workers, young people, women, retirees and institutions across Ondo State. His interventions have reached government agencies and parastatals, while his focus on infrastructure, healthcare, education, workers’ welfare, water, agriculture and economic development continues to create visible impact.

This is why we refuse to allow political calculations to reduce the achievements of this administration to mere political talking points.

Aiyedatiwa’s performance must be judged by results, not rumours.

Within a remarkably short period in office, this administration has set a pace that deserves recognition. We believe Governor Aiyedatiwa has broken important records in the history of Ondo State through the speed, breadth and practical impact of his interventions.

That is why I call him MR. PROGRESSIVE.

Mr. Progressive is not a title of convenience. It represents a leadership philosophy — progress, development, stability and service to the people.

BTO has a national assignment. Let him deliver nationally.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has a state assignment. Let him govern Ondo State.

Ondo politics will always be there. Governance cannot wait.

Therefore, to the BTO support groups, I repeat the challenge:

Don’t bring insults. Bring evidence.
Don’t bring propaganda. Bring measurable results.
Don’t bring political attacks. Bring the scorecard.

If there are ten achievements that have truly transformed the Ministry of Interior, put them before Nigerians.

And while you are doing that, allow Governor Aiyedatiwa to continue doing what he was elected to do — govern Ondo State and deliver progress to the people.

Let the evidence speak.
Let performance speak.
Let the people speak.
